Bali has a wet season and a dry season, and the Telaga Waja changes with them. In the wet season, rain upstream can raise the river quickly: the rapids get even more powerful, and on some days the operator closes the river for safety. In the dry season the water is usually lower. The river is checked before trips run; if it is closed because of high water, you choose a new date or a full refund.

The Telaga Waja runs through Rendang in Karangasem, east Bali. It is the longer and wilder of our two rafting rivers: 14–16 km of Grade III–IV rapids, about 2–2.5 hours on the water, and a dam drop of about 4 m.
Choose a seat in a shared raft and make your own way to the operator's start point, or book a private raft for your group at one price per raft. Trips start at 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00.
A river guide steers every raft, everyone wears a helmet and a life jacket, and every trip starts with a safety briefing. You book and pay through Family Trips Bali; the trip itself is run by a local rafting operator.

Meet the operator's team at the start point. You get a helmet, a life jacket and a paddle.

Your river guide explains how to sit in the raft, the paddle commands, what to do if you fall in and what happens at the dam drop.
