Telaga Waja Rafting
Grade III–IV rapids and a dam drop in east Bali — the wilder of our two rafting rivers.
The Telaga Waja runs through Rendang in Karangasem, east Bali. Rafting trips here are longer than on the Ayung: 14–16 km of river and about 2–2.5 hours on the water.
The rapids are Grade III–IV, stronger than on the Ayung, and the run includes a dam drop of about 4 m. It suits guests who want more action and groups who have rafted before.
The trips are run by local rafting operators; the exact start point is confirmed before your trip.
Bali has a wet season and a dry season, and the Telaga Waja changes with them. In the wet season, rain upstream can raise the river quickly: the rapids get even more powerful, and on some days the operator closes the river for safety. In the dry season the water is usually lower. The river is checked before trips run; if it is closed because of high water, you choose a new date or a full refund.
